Spin, the movie.

"SPIN"

Definitely worth a watch. Brian pieced together bits of satellite feeds to give a behind-the scenes look at TV politics and spin

"Using the 1992 presidential election as his springboard, documentary filmmaker Brian Springer captures the behind-the-scenes maneuverings of politicians and newscasters in the early 1990s. Pat Robertson banters about "homos," Al Gore learns how to avoid abortion questions, George Bush talks to Larry King about halcyon -- all presuming they're off camera. Composed of 100% unauthorized satellite footage, Spin is a surreal expose of media-constructed reality."

Katie interview George Bush

One of the things I took away from this interview was when Bush said, "One of the hardest parts of my job is connecting Iraq to Al-Qaeda." My first question: Why would he have to connect Iraq to Al-Qaeda? Secondly; if he has to connect Iraq to Al-Qaeda, why is it so hard to connect Iraq to Al-Qaeda?

Another that struck me was when he said, "...12 million people said we want a government." as a justification for our invasion and occupation of Iraq. What would be his response to the calls from the 12 million+ illegal immigrants in this country crying out to be part of the United States?

Bush then stated, "When a person like Osama Bin Laden speaks, we better be careful about what he says...Listen. Pay attention to his words." His words (7 October 2001) can be found here.
