Squeaky, the Amazing Ranch Hand

Being from South Texas, I found Squeaky to be an amazing asset to this ranch owner. I wonder if more ranchers will consider utilizing hogs this way.

Thanks to KK for sending me this one. If we had a Squeaky when I was a kid, my brothers and I would have taught it to pick up and haul away rocks.

Amazing Elephant Artist

This elephant was rescued from abusive treatment in Burma and is now recovering and is painting a self-portrait!!! I was stunned to see the dexterity of this huge mammal. If cows could do this, would we still eat them?

The video was posted by Exotic World Gifts who supports, "Starving Elephant Artisans" by selling their paintings so they can continue to have a new life in Thailand.

Fun In The Snow

This one is going out to my dear friends in Canada. Sometimes it takes man's best friend to remind man how fun the snow can be!

May this bring you warmth in winter.

Thanks to my Dad for sending this one.

Huckabee - Vote For Me Or Die

Governor Huckabee presented three dead birds and said,
"These three birds all said they would not vote for me on caucus night. You see what happened to them."

" A reporter then asked, "Is that positive campaigning?" Huckabee's response is even more offensive than his initial statement:
"It's very positive. It's very positive. You vote for me, you live. You don't? Mmmmm (waving his hand triumphantly over his kill) ...There you go!"
Yes...There you go.

Lion Hugs Woman

Ok...I had to search out something a little lighter. The following video is of an African lion hugging and loving on a Colombian woman who rescued it about 6 years ago.

Of course, they probably aren't thinking about the pending trade deal with Colombia. Yes...I know...can't seem to let that stuff go.

When Colombian President Alvaro Uribe made his visit to Peru on December 11th, President Alan Garcia pledged to assist his ally in his quest for free trade:

"I want to say to everyone, Peruvians and especially to Colombians: This treaty of free trade that Peru has signed with the U.S. will not be complete until Colombia has signed the free trade treaty with the United States."

19 chief executives sent a letter on Dec. 11 sponsored by the Emergency Committee for American Trade, representing CEOs from Microsoft, Citibank, McGraw-Hill, GM, Oracle, Intel, Coca-Cola, 3M, Procter & Gamble, Target, Wal-Mart and Exxon Mobil. The letter urged Congress to extend the U.S.-Peru trade pact to Colombia.

That must have been some thorn in it's paw!

Killer Tortoise

This is the most tenacious and energetic tortoise I have ever seen. Watch as it chases a cat around the yard.

Another break from politics video with no real point.

Morning Music - Nora the Piano Playing Cat

Today's morning music is being presented more for the performance than for it's harmonies or inventive lyrics. Meet Nora the piano playing cat. She is a three year old cat who has been playing piano since she was one.

For those of you who can't get enough kitty music...an encore:

This post is an unexpected contribution by a blog reader who is very anti-cat. Thanks Mr. X.
