This is an event I wholeheartedly support and will attend, but neglected to mention this year. I highly recommend you put on your walking shoes and hit the east side. The East Austin Studio Tour is FREE.
There are studios and artists of all sorts and many wonderful Austinite artists come out support the East Austin Studios as well as to be inspired.

So my favorite place today was the Arthouse of Ionic Futurism! It was beautiful-complex-world-view-spirit-path art between a mother and her prodigy progeny. In touch with the larger spiritual space the way Aborigines are - reminded me of a series I saw at the Venice Biennale in 1990 by the same - earthy, yet high-minded and high-hearted. Sword and chalice, numbers and tarot, DNA and the drive to survive combine with eyes, masks, dots and the rhythm of the earth drum - returning to the Mother. AllexosQ, 5, says her works are meteors in the sky - how amazing! Like little fireballs of enlightenment!
