Want To See My Artwork In Person?

Come visit me at the East Austin Studio Tour between 11:00 am and 6:00pm on November 13 & 14 and 20 & 21 at 809 East 16th Street in Austin, TX. It is listed as Studio #102 on the tour map.

I will be displaying photography and art and will have a large screen to display additional work available by special order.


There will be 10 artists showing their work throughout The Village and a DJ/Dub artist spinning tunes to match the day.

Molino de Viento Rojo

The name of this photo was inspired by Miguel de Cervantes novel, "Don Quixote".

I shot this on the sidewalk in front of the gallery when I showed my work on Exposition in Dallas, TX.

We had two wonderful models who graciously agreed to allow artists at the show to paint them as living canvases draw people in to the show. This young lady turned out to be one of my favorite models and I look forward to working with her again.

Want to Drink Vodka and Look at Art?

I would like to cordially invite to attend the Artists’ Reception on Saturday, July 11, 2009 from 6:00pm-9:00pm at the Austin Art Space Gallery. I have one piece on display in this show.

Refreshments, including Dripping Springs Vodka, will be served while the J. Jarrod Trio performs. Many of the artists are expected to be on hand to discuss their work. The exhibit ends August 22.

Gallery Lombardi - Put Up Or Shut Up

These are from last night at Gallery Lombardi.  It was a wonderful experience.   Fantastic art inside and DJ Prohetski was spinning for the "Put Up or Shut Up Battle" featured below.  

I will likely  post another pic or two on my photo blog.

East Austin Studio Tour Pictures

The East Austin Studio Tour provided a full day of East Austin fun and sights.  One of the studios we visited, "Arthouse of Ionic Futurism", belonged to Dalana Castrell who shared her ideas, art and energy with us.  

She also introduced us to the amazing AllexosQ.  She incorporates much of AllexosQ's energy and art into her own art.

AllexosQ shared how she creates the comets in the heavens and how she then sees them in her dreams and how they inspire her art.

We spent some time at the Art Palace, as well.  Thoughtful work and worth hunting down.

Another artist we met today, Diana Cruz, does some very intricate work with straw that she dyes and then arranges in lovely ways.  When we first saw her work, we thought that it was embroidery. It is very impressive.  We plan to return tomorrow to have Diana teach us exactly how she does it.  I don't know if I will have the patience to stay for the entire lesson.  I may leave Arlene and Diana to create while I run around and take more pictures as Arlene is a far more patient artist than myself.

East Austin Studio Tour This Weekend - Free!

This is an event I wholeheartedly support and will attend, but neglected to mention this year.  I highly recommend you put on your walking shoes and hit the east side. The East Austin Studio Tour is FREE.   

There are studios and artists of all sorts and many wonderful Austinite artists come out support the East Austin Studios as well as to be inspired.

Flesh and Bone

Many of you have been asking about my next show. I am pleased to announce it will be on May 8th at the Avenue Arts Venue in Dallas, Texas. I will not be posting much on line from this show. If you are truly interested in the work, drop me a line and I will forward some of it...after the show...of course.

SXSW - Art Outside

What an incredible SXSW (South by Southwest) week?!? My shoulders are killing me. I did over 20 hours of bullwhips, 12 hours of photography and the rest on other artistic modalities. Over the next few days, I'll try to share a few of my favorite pictures from the Enchanted Forest.

To get this shot of one of my favorite installations at Art Outside: I had to climb higher than I am comfortable with into a cedar tree while precariously balancing my camera. It was worth it to be able to share this artist's work with you. (I'm still tying to find out who created it) The work was done with beans, corn and lentils. It makes me think that a dragonfly whispered this into a shaman's ear.

This guy greeted people as they were entering Art Outside. Created by Starry-Johnny Fleisher. The size of this installation was impressive, as was attention to detail. But...It looked like robot torture to me.

This was one of the signs hovering above the creek near the back stage. Of course, I couldn't walk out without taking a shot of this sign.

Self-Portrait Show - Austin Figurative Gallery

Friday night was the self-portrait show at the Austin Figurative Gallery.
