Turning the Place Over

'Turning the Place Over' is an amazing art installation in Liverpool, England created by Richard Wilson. It is an 8 metre ovoid cut from the facade of a building in Liverpool's city centre and made to oscillate in three dimensions by attaching the facade to a giant rotator at an angle. It is in constant motion during daylight hours. The official running date of the installation is 20 June 2007 through the end of 2008.

Richard Wilson is one of Britain’s most renowned sculptors. It is evident that he draws heavily from the worlds of engineering and construction.Wilson is often recognized for his 20:50 installation at the Saatchi Gallery in London.

'Turning the Place Over' is co-commissioned by the Liverpool Culture Company and Liverpool Biennial, co-funded by the Northwest Regional Development Agency and The Northern Way, and facilitated by Liverpool Vision.
