Manila is Bracing for More?

Here's an international story that I first heard about this from a friend in the blogosphere, Charity. It's been a devastating couple of days in Manila with the impact from the latest typhoon. The more concerning part is that there is another on the way.

You can find these clips and more information on her blog. She has been blogging whenever she is able to get signal to do so. You can check out her blog here.

Charity said that the American military has been instrumental in saving lives in the area.
It's always good to hear when our military is used for commendable purposes.

It's just horrible and tragic. I just came from Charity's blog and I feel helpless.

I know this has been happening and it's terrible.

Due to family crisis I cannot post and really appreciate you doing so.

I am only visiting a select few blogs this next few days and I thank you Erik for reminding me that I should visit Charity.

I know the river right below her house was terribly flooded.

And yes it is good to that our troops are being put to good use, receiving recommendation and gratefulness for it!

Karin,
It is nice to hear our forces are being used for benevolent purposes and a shame that they are needed. We have been looking for ways to help, too.

Poetic Shutterbug,
I think we all feel a bit helpless; it is likely it will take a long time to help dig things out and rebuild. I am hoping that the additional weather will be merciful.

I am sorry to hear about your family crisis. I hope it has already come to a positive resolution. I have been in Canada since just after posting this. We will be returning in a few days. I am honored to be on your short list of blogs. Know that I am thinking of you and your family.
Much love and peace.

This was the worst flood that ever hit the Philippines. Until now so much has to be done. What was tragic was that Northern Philippines was again hit by a more ferocious and stronger typhoon that packed winds of up to 205 kms per hour. The typhoon kept on returning 3 times and completely submerged the whole of Northern Luzon. There was so much mudslides even in the mountain ranges of the provinces and the various dams in the area simultaneously released pent up waters thus exacerbating the situation there. More than 500 dead accumulated from the two typhoons. We can only hope and pray that God help the Filipinos to rise again. Thanks for the post and the videos. God bless.
