Dragonfly Chalk Design
I did this last year on the back porch of our old apartment. I did it for a dear friend in Canada. It was easier and harder than I thought it would be. Either way, I was pleased with the result.
The piece was 3 or 4 feet across. I have a new piece of slab I am working on, but have not quite got the hang of working on it. I need a light out there!
Wow, that is really cool. Is it permanent or will it wash away in the rain? My wife and daughter both love dragonflies and that would look great in our garden.
Thank you everyone. I was amazed what happened when I got out of the way and let something beautiful take shape. I hope I can stay out of the way more often. :)
Chris...it washed away with the first good rain. I covered it and recovered it. Part of my joy in this medium is the impermanence and continual creation. That being said, I think that it would be neat to do one on a public sidewalk that would remain for a long time to brighten peoples' days.

Oh, that's gorgeous! You manipulate chalk wonderfully! :)
Grace is ready to start sidewalk chalking it! Come over soon and teach her.
