Vaccines? No Legal Recourse!

(Photo: Wired.com)

On June 15, 2009, Secretary Sebelius signed a declaration under the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness (PREP) Act to extend liability immunity against tort claims to individuals and entities involved in all stages of 2009 H1N1 influenza vaccine development, testing, manufacture, distribution, prescribing, administration, and use.

Liability immunity means that there is no legal tort claim that can be pursued in state or federal court. Individuals and entities that receive liability immunity under the declaration include manufacturers, distributors, States, locals, Tribes, and other entities that supervise or administer a vaccination program, and health care professionals or others authorized under State law to prescribe, administer, and dispense vaccines (Including police and military forces), when they are carrying out activities in accordance with the conditions stated in the declaration.

Think I am making this up? Here's the government's link.

One way the government can prevent situations like the video of my last post. Just say no one can be held responsible for crippling and killing Americans.

New Documentary - Food Matters

This appears to be the next don't-miss documentary on food and health. "Food Matters" addresses health issues associated with food, genetic modifications and pesticides. You can visit the Food Matters site here.

They describe themselves as:
We are nutritionists turned filmmakers.

We discovered that what we are being told to eat by governments, food companies and mass media marketing is actually doing us considerable harm.

In a mission to uncover the truth we have tracked down several of the world’s leaders in nutrition and natural healing from around the globe in order to provide you with the most up to date information on nutrition and natural healing.

The focus of the film is in helping us rethink the belief systems fed to us by our modern medical and health care establishments. Our teachers point out that not every problem requires costly, major medical attention and reveal many alternative therapies that can be more effective, more economical, less harmful and less invasive.

The Texas Cannabis Crusade & Pot-luck for Pot-love is going to be held on Saturday May 3rd. The festivities begin at 10 A.M. in Zilker Park's Pecan Grove. There will breakfast tacos available and sign making materials for the march to the Capitol Steps at noon.

There will be a legalization rally from 1-4 that will include live music and several speakers.

After the rally at the Capitol, everyone will head back to Zilker for the Pot-luck for Pot-love and more live music ’till 10PM. You can register a pot-luck dish entry by emailing: potluckforpotlove@texasnorml.org.

The Texas Cannabis Crusade is being organized and paid for by Texas NORML and Outgrow Big Bro. Without help from supporters, such an event at the State Capitol or Zilker Park would not be possible.

Got Milk?

Milk, it does a body good?

As many of you know, I don't think that milk is healthy choice for anyone. These kids use an unsophisticated, yet effective, way of testing the theory that you can't drink a gallon of milk in an hour without throwing up.

Ever wonder about drug residues are in your milk?

There is a great video on how Fox News suppressed an investigative story on rBGH (recombinant bovine growth hormone). You can watch it here.

Bill Mahr - Pharmaceutical Rant

I'm not the biggest fan of Bill Maher, but this clip made me smile. He puts forth a few interesting ideas. I'd love to hear what others think of it.
