Charges Against George W. Bush

I have received numerous e-mails requesting to know what the 35 charges of high crimes and misdemeanors George W. Bush has been charged with. The charges range from creating a secret propaganda campaign against the American people to kidnapping, torture, illegal detentions and obstructing the 9/11 investigation.

For an overview of the charges, click here.

Peace of Mind 5K for Injured Veterans

I am getting up early on Saturday morning (June 14th) to photograph the "Peace of Mind 5k". It will be the first-ever rally/walk/run saluting Americans with combat-related brain injuries. It begins at 8am.

According to a PRN Newswire release,

"A recent RAND Corp. report states that 320,000 U.S. military veterans have
sustained combat-related brain injuries. Some estimates indicate 20,000
servicemembers have sustained combat-related traumatic brain injury (TBI) as a
result of the current war in Iraq and Afghanistan, the war's so-called
"signature injury." "

A thousand American flags will be distributed to wave. (I can't say I support jingoism in any form.)

The event is sponsored by and proceeds from the Peace of Mind 5K will benefit the Defense/Veterans Brain Injury Centers, the Helping a Hero Organization, the Brain Injury Association of Texas and Easter Seals Central Texas.

I ask all in attendence to evaluate what it means to support our troops. These brave men and women have committed their lives to defending our freedoms and are being USED for other purposes. The resulting injuries and deaths are unconscionable, especially in light of the facts regarding how the public and their representatives were lied to by those sworn to uphold the constitution.

Support the troops. Show up, participate, donate, get to know these veterans and see how you can help. The best way to prevent TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) in battle is not to have a battle.

The War Prayer

Mark Twain has always been a favorite of mine and today I was reading the C&L blog and found this wonderful drawn animation of his work, "The War Prayer". It addresses the wonders of jingoism and the prayers of God's people. (NOT FOR CHILDREN!)

Killing Muslims for Apple Pie, Jesus and Judaism

Why aren't Reverend Parsley and Pastor Hagee on Fox News? If we are so concerned with Mr. Obama's spiritual mentors, why are we not examining those of Mr. McCain?

Reverend Parsley and Pastor Hagee...filled with fear and hate...in Jesus name.

If these guys think God is all-powerful, do they not think that God can protect us/them? Why do they believe that we need to do God's killing? Why do we need bombs if we have God? If we are the Christian nation these guys claim, couldn't we just blow a bunch of trumpets and watch their defenses collapse?

George Bush a Threat to World Peace?

I think it is important to consider what our greatest allies are saying about George Bush and the United States. Polls from Great Britain, Canada and Mexico all place Bush as a greater threat to world peace than any other world leader. Even 36% of Israelis say that Bush and U.S. policy have increased the threat to world peace.

When polled, Brits (Our closest allies) said that George Bush poses a greater threat to peace than anyone other than Osama Bin Laden. Yes...he even comes in ahead of "the evil-doers": Kim Jong Il, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad & Hassan Nasrallah.

I am curious what Americans would say about George Bush and the threat to world security. If anyone has reputable poll information regarding this, please forward it to me.

Missile System From Russia to Iran

Someone please send me some really cool local art I can post or something that will bring a smile to people's faces.

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Russia has agreed to sell an S-300 anti-aircraft missile system to Iran. You can read the article for yourself here.

"S-300 missiles are longer-ranging than the TOR-M1 surface-to-air missiles which Russia, in a deal criticized by the West, earlier this year said it had delivered to the Islamic Republic under a $1 billion contract."

Bush Didn't Know NIE Report Info Until Last Week?

This is President Bush on the timing of the NIE report with his warnings of World War III. I will let you research when he actually found out about it. I know...do you?

Nader on Suspending the '08 Elections

This is Ralph Nader speaking on October 11, 2007. He refers to a statement by Rep. John Olver (D - MA) that Congress won't impeach Bush & Cheney because if they do, Bush & Cheney will bomb Iran, declare martial law, and suspend the '08 elections.

This certainly isn't the first time I have heard this position, but it is the first time I have come across a video regarding the topic.

The Problem is Iran?

You can read the text of George Bush's address last night here. I am not surprised that the thrust of his speech was that we need to stay in Iraq to counter the evildoers of Iran:
"The success of a free Iraq is critical to the security of the United States. A free Iraq will deny Al Qaeda a safe haven. A free Iraq will counter the destructive ambitions of Iran."
I'm having difficulty keeping up. I'm certain if I tune in for my daily two minutes hate, I will know which country we fear and plan to attack and which terrorist groups the United States has decided cut off communications with and which to fund to serve it's own purposes.

Liberman - Patraeus - Invade Iran?

Senator Joe Lieberman and his fellow neo-cons make me sick!!! He continues to push to invade Iran. In the video below, he attempts to get General David Patraeus to say we should invade Iran. Patraeus, to his credit, maintains that his only jurisdiction is Iraq.

Watch the video and judge for yourself. Did Senator Lieberman have an ulterior motive in his line of questioning?

Something Other than Music?

Ok...here's a little bit of politics for the day. But I am going to let someone else do the talking. Check out the
Scott-O-Rama article called, "Are You Paying Attention?" here. I like his blog because he documents his sources and make personal research into his topics an easier start.

Ron Paul on Tucker Carlson

As I have shared a couple of Ron Paul videos lately, some have written to ask if I am conservative or Republican. I am neither conservative nor Republican. I do, however, enjoy watching the good 'ol boys shifting in their seats as Conservative Republican Congressman Ron Paul keeps wiping the floors with their butts. As he is winning all of the debates but being missed by most of the media, I will continue to post on him.

Presidential Address

I'm sending more of your children off to die!

21,500 More troops to Iraq.

In his speech (read the Whitehouse transcript here), George Bush said:
"Succeeding in Iraq also requires defending its territorial integrity and stabilizing the region in the face of extremist challenges. This begins with addressing Iran and Syria."
Keith's response:
"Only this president, only in this time, only with this dangerous, even messianic certitude, could answer a country demanding an exit strategy from Iraq, by offering an entrance strategy for Iran."
Below is Keith Olbermann's response to Bush's October 10th speech advising the nation that he is sending 21,500 more troops to Iraq:

"Before Mr. Bush was elected, he said nation-building was wrong for America.

Now he says it is vital.

He said he would never put U.S. troops under foreign control.

Last night he promised to embed them in Iraqi units."

Brace Yourself

After a very long day of work, I fell asleep on the couch much earlier than I normally would be in bed. I awoke a few minutes ago to hear a quick mention on the news that the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower and the IKE CSG have finally arrived in the "Arabian" Gulf. I can't believe I missed this one.

(Picture courtesy of Dwight d. Eisenhower Memorial Commission website)
"The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), flagship of the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group (IKE CSG), entered the Persian Gulf Dec. 11, accompanied by the guided-missile cruiser USS Anzio (CG 68)."
