U.S. Presidential Candidate Arrested

One would think that a previous House Rep. & previous U.S. Presidential candidate accompanied by a Nobel Laureate being captured by military troops would be news. Not this time; the military involved is Israel's.

Cynthia McKinney and 20 other passengers, including the Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Mairead Maguire had their vessel boarded in international waters , were captured and are currently still being held.

I must question why such a thing was not mentioned in the news. What if John McCain and Al Gore had been captured? Or even Bob Barr? Why is there nothing being said? I found 3 articles when I did a Google "NEWS" search. THREE! Was there a single major news source? Ha. The Age (of Australia) and the Palestine Telegraph appear to be the closest thing to major news sources so far.

What has happened to Journalism?

Ya know, that's a good question. I'm calling the editor of my paper. What are you going to do?

Amazing 1,474-Megapixel Photo - How To!

David Berman created an amazing work, a 1,474 megapixel photo at President Obama's Inaugural address.  The photo is an AP photo from 2005, I could not post his because of it's amazing size.  The resolution is really quite amazing.

He says he found Yo-Yo Ma taking a photo with his phone.  I was able to see security details on rooftops and scan the photographers in the crowd  .
Check it out here.

I initially heard about this through the photobusinessforum blog.

If you are like me and have to know how this is done and how you can do it yourself, this is how it's done:

Inauguration Day 2009 - Austin, TX

Photos from today's gathering at Scholz Garten this afternoon.

Many came to watch as Obama was sworn in as President.

It was packed in front,

packed in back,

...And packed in the back garten.

One of my favorite shots from the day:

Christmas Shopping or Stockpiling Weapons?

It was a scene I could only compare to shopping malls at Christmas time in the 1980s.  We drove up North Lamar into a traffic jam. We had to go see what all of the commotion was about.
There were Sheriffs directing traffic, cars parked up and down both sides of the streets including most of the surrounding lots near the Crocket Center were full and the Center Parking lot was obviously at capacity.

It wasn't black Friday and it certainly isn't the 1980s.

It was a gun show in Central Texas just after the election.
This photo does not begin to demonstrate how packed it was there.

Paper Ballots Are a Must!!!

Please ask for paper ballots when voting!!!

The first video is a full length film called "Hacking Democracy". It is a documentary I hope all my readers will watch. I sent it to all my friends and family back in May and hope that everyone has watched it and acted on what they discovered.

Here's an interesting video where an election official is showing how to recalibrate a machine and trying to make justifications for the vote switching that has been occurring. It is completely counter-intuitive that we would allow anyone to attempt to recalibrate a machine mid-election. We need to rid ourselves of this system in which there is no way to possibly go back to verify the results of an election.

A Google Gift

Google was good to me today.  I was looking at some of the traffic for my site and I had a visitor from Raleigh, NC who found me by Googling: "laws against black and female presidential candidates". Now that it is on my site, I will always be in the choices when people search that line.

If you found your way by Googling this very line...Welcome!  Please take some time to dig through my site and comment.  I entertain all thought and do my best to respond to most comments.

McKinney/Clemente in 2008

Think that no presidential candidate cares about trillions of dollars missing each year?   Think no presidential candidate is asking real questions about 9/11?  Think again.  Think Cynthia McKinney.

This is the 1st all-women-of-color presidential ticket in US history!

I am still amazed that hardly anyone knows about Cynthia McKinney and Rosa Clemente. You would think that it might get a mention on the news. Somehow ABC, NBC, CBS and (fair and balanced) Fox News seemed to have missed it.

Do you want to vote for someone who has not supported the dissolution of the Bill of Rights as Barack Obama and John McCain have? Cynthia is an option. She is running on the Green Party ticket. Rather than choosing between the lesser of two evils, how about not voting for evil at all?

Homer Simpson Tries to Vote for Obama

The future is here. Watch as Homer attempts to place his vote for Obama. If you are concerned about electronic vote tallying, get informed and involved here.

Even the cartoons leave out all of the rest of the candidates for President. Granted, the Simpsons is a show on Fox.

Voting for Female Presidential Candidate

I have finally made my decision who to vote for in the unfolding Orwellian play.  I have decided not to vote for either of the false dichotomies.   For all of the obvious reasons, I cannot support Senator McCain or his scary sidekick.  I can no longer give any credence to Barack Obama as a candidate as he supported FISA and the elimination of the 4th Amendment (It had McCain's support too).   I can support no candidate for president who so plainly illustrates a desire to dismantle the constitution, rather than to "uphold and defend it".

Some of you may have heard about Bob Barr running on the Libertarian ticket; another scary character.  He is a libertarian authoritarian, ex-CIA and a major player in the war on drugs.  He advocates complete federal prohibition of medical marijuana.  He even authored the "Barr" amendment which prohibits future laws that would "decrease the penalties for marijuana".

Who is there left, you ask?  A female candidate for President of the United States.  Yes, there is a woman who is actually on the ballot and she is black!  What's more?  She has a black female Vice Presidential running mate.  In the last 3 months, there are only 4 people I have spoken with who even know she is running.  Yes, I am voting for Cynthia McKinney and Rosa Clemente.

I can understand that she may not be the mainstream's most viable candidate, but one would expect just a bit more hoopla in the news about a female presidential candidate, especially a black one.

I won't tell anyone to vote any particular way.  All I ask is:

Don't vote for the lesser evil.  Don't vote for evil at all.  Vote your conscience.

Police Threaten to Gas Veterans at DNC.

I wonder if they were granted access to speak at the convention or if they attempted to approach the convention again. I wonder if they would claim victory and leave so quickly if someone wearing a suit says something reassuring again.

I hope that both campaigns speak to veterans and citizens about important issues. I also hope that both camps become defenders of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Obama Declares Victory - Can We Concentrate Now?

So...Can we start paying attention to what the Congress and Senate are doing? This epic-length battle has been a blue dress of distraction.
Yes, the battle for top diplomat and commander-in-chief should be important to us, but not all-consuming. Congress and Senate are as much to blame for what is happening with the United States and around the world, if not more. They were elected to represent us and act as a check/balance with the Judicial and the Executive branches.True, they are not doing their jobs the way they should and neither are we. We are just as guilty because we have not demanded accountability from our representatives. We have not remained diligent and have released control of our republic to scoundrels, crooks and liars.

Please get involved in local and state elections while we still have a chance to.

Hacking Democracy

Are you interested in the election process?
Bev Harris is an amazing and brave woman. She stumbled across information that lead her to believe that the fate of our Democracy jeopardized. The following documentary exposes the vulnerability of computer voting systems which count about 80% of of the votes in the United States. This video is the journey she took to validate her suspicions.

Visit Black Box Voting for more information.

Killing Muslims for Apple Pie, Jesus and Judaism

Why aren't Reverend Parsley and Pastor Hagee on Fox News? If we are so concerned with Mr. Obama's spiritual mentors, why are we not examining those of Mr. McCain?

Reverend Parsley and Pastor Hagee...filled with fear and hate...in Jesus name.

If these guys think God is all-powerful, do they not think that God can protect us/them? Why do they believe that we need to do God's killing? Why do we need bombs if we have God? If we are the Christian nation these guys claim, couldn't we just blow a bunch of trumpets and watch their defenses collapse?

Fox's Subliminal McCain

I stumbled across this video on Mascot Moscat's blog, "Flies in the Kitchen". In his blog article, he says:
"I was editing a video today when, while scrolling through this Fox News intro, I saw a very familiar face. A very Republican face."

If you want to ask questions, thank her for sharing her discovery or accuse her of creating this to discredit the ever-honorable Fox News, you can e-mail her at fliesinthekitchen@gmail.com

McCain Opposes Expanding GI Bill?!?

With the politics I have followed for all these years, I keep thinking I won't be surprised. McCain caught me off guard again. Read the article from ABC News where Senator John McCain (the Republican candidate for president) is opposing the current version of the bill because it would likely "lead more members to get out of the service". I am left with more questions than answers.

Expanding educational benefits for those who put their lives on the line (the ones he would send to fight and/or die around the world) would be a bad thing? It would make them leave the military?

Does he think education makes you less patriotic? Is he implying that if we educate our young people, they will think that military service is a bad thing? Does he feel that they would no longer feel the need to protect their country or fellow soldiers? Is he concerned that they might discover there are other ways of protecting "The Homeland", protecting allies and serving the needs of the United States? Maybe even better ways?

Is it that if people remain poor, uneducated and fear what they are told to fear; they will do anything (including die for) an opportunity to have a better life for their families? It almost makes it sound like we, as a country, prey on the poor and uneducated and he wants to make certain to keep them uneducated.

I think this is a good time to share the "john.he.is" video again. It is a video put together from different speeches Senator McCain has given.

Q: "President Bush talked about our staying in Iraq for 50 years..."
Senator McCain butts in and says, "

"Maybe a hundred, that's fine with me! I don't think Americans are concerned if we're there for a hundred years, or a thousand years, or ten thousand years."
Have you met one of these Americans he speaks of?

If you are one...I'd love to hear from you.

Reject the Politics of Fear

I guess it's just a Hillary Clinton Day. The following video is of Casey Knowles, the young girl in Hillary Clinton's 3 a.m. "Be afraid, be very afraid!" ad.

In her own words:
"I reject the politics of fear that Senator Clinton uses to drum up votes."

I realize that this is an Obama ad. I am not endorsing Obama, but rejecting the politics of fear. In this case, it was an attempt by Hillary to put fear into people's hearts and minds and offer herself as the solution. I believe it is important that we all reject the politics of fear than ANY candidate employs and recognize it for what it is: PROPAGANDA.
