02 December 2011

It's Raining.

Quietly, clouds and darkness approach
Winds whip, rain pounds, and lightning strikes
Seeking shelter from the storm to no avail

Indomitable power, hiding cannot help
The storm will do what the storm will do
Resolved to confront that which I fear

The tempest dwindles and drops diminish
A longing for recovery, repair and new growth
Emerge, displacing fears of destruction

Fun In The Snow

This one is going out to my dear friends in Canada. Sometimes it takes man's best friend to remind man how fun the snow can be!

May this bring you warmth in winter.

Thanks to my Dad for sending this one.

Sydney, The Cappuccino Coast

In August, the shoreline north of Sydney became known as the Cappuccino Coast.

Powerful currents in the Pacific churned the impurities in the ocean into a foam that quickly coated a 30 mile strip of the Sydney coastline. The picture is from Yamba in New South Wales.

See more pictures and read more about it here.
Thanks to KK for sending this one in.

Mountain Hike in a Snow Globe

During my time in B.C. I had the opportunity to climb Mt. Rose Swanson. As we hiked, I was starting to question if my inner South Texan had bundled up too much. I had to remove my coat completely about 1/4 of the way up and kept it off until we got about 3/4 of the way up when the snow flurries began and the winds began to pick up. By the time we got to the peak, it was really snowing. This is a picture of my guide taking time on the peak to soak in the universe and enjoy the snow globe view of the valley. Thank you for the view, the history, the experience.
